Chris Cornell not concerned about possible backlash over Timbaland-produced album
Former Soundgarden/Audioslave singer Chris Cornell told RollingStone.com that he's not particularly concerned about a possible backlash over his decision to put away the guitar in favor of continuous dance grooves and hip-hop beats on his new solo album, "Scream".

"At this point, it's all theory," he said. "It's like when I got together with the Rage Against The Machine guys for Audioslave and there was all this talk about how it was sacrilege from Rage fans, Soundgarden fans ? even old ladies on the street would come up to me and say, 'That's a terrible idea!' Maybe I'm an optimist or just an idiot but I really think the fans will come around to the concept. I could sit down and make a wall-to-wall guitar album tomorrow. I think it's important for fans to know that but if I'm doing something that inspires me musically then I think it will inspire someone else too."

Due on March 10 via Interscope/Mosley Music, "Scream" "showcases a new, seductive sound ? dark, multi-layered and full of puzzles and surprises," according to a press release. "The songs bring a new cinematic scope to Cornell's performances, with potent visual imagery echoing the non-stop musical assault from his internationally acclaimed live band." "Musically, this is the most ambitious thing I've been a part of. It's almost like a movie soundtrack," says Cornell.

"Scream" track listing:

01. Part Of Me
02. Time
03. Sweet Revenge
04. Get Up
05. Ground Zero
06. Never Far Away
07. Take Me Alive
08. Long Gone
09. Scream
10. Enemy
11. Other Side Of Town
12. Climbing Up The Walls
13. Watch Out

Chris is currently on tour in Europe and will kick off his multi-city U.S. tour on March 28 in Dallas, Texas.
